Analyze Implement Links

In this last step, you will analyze implement links between parts, operations and processes.

Click Play to watch the video:

  1. Click Live System Editor to enter the editor.

  2. In the East Quadrant of the PLM Compass, click the arrow next to Process Assignment Status and select Implement Link Analysis.

  3. Expand the tree under System A to show the operations under that system.

  4. Select a part on the tile of System A (for example, the flywheel part of the engine).

A green square is displayed next to one of the operations in the tree: it is the "implementing object" of the selected part.

In the expanded process tree, a blue square is displayed next to one of the Provide processes: it is the "implemented object" of the operation.

  5. Select the Provide process in the tree.

The blue square changes to yellow, which means that it is both an "implemented object" and "implementing object".

It is the "implemented object" of the operation and the "implementing object" of a part.

In the expanded product tree, a blue square is displayed next to one of the parts (FLYWHEEL): it is the implemented object of the process.

  6. Select the FLYWHEEL part in the tree.

In the expanded process tree, the yellow square next to the Provide process changes to green: the process is the "implementing object" of the part.

  7. Click the arrow next to Implement Link Analysis to quit the analysis.
