3DLive.msi in a Nutshell
One of the main objectives of current 3D PLM products is to achieve a high level of integration of PLM in all user activities, from navigation to authoring, process and simulation. One aspect of this integration is the transparent accessibility to PLM information at any time on any object. The 3DLive product delivers this transparent access.
3DLive.msi, the Microsoft Installer (MSI) file generated during the
installation and administration procedure described in this guide,
provides the end-user the capability to load 3DLive from his
intranet and to then easily access data coming from the different
enterprise data sources, thus enabling the goal of accessibility to
PLM information at any time on any object.
This light MSI file generated during the installation procedure described in this guide has the following characteristics:
single, standalone executable file containing all needed resources
as simple as possible to install: only critical customizations available for the user
no packaging, i.e. no product choice to make for the user
OS prerequisite checking
simple de-installation, integrated with Windows “add/remove software” feature
automatic de-installation of a previous installation when installing a newer one
3DLive use can enlarge the diffusion of 3D PLM to non-designers.
It can greatly enhance product life cycle management by increasing
collaborative work.
