CATIA Live Shape in a Nutshell

CATIA Live Shape is for designers, architects and engineers. It lets you create ideas or concepts in 3D, from scratch or from existing geometry. At this stage, you work with 3D shapes.

You can also create, edit and navigate structures as well as compose your environment by searching for and reusing existing designs, and smart position and move parts in 3D. Here, you work with 3D parts and products.

You can customize how various components will be displayed in the CATIA Live Shape window by setting options in the Display tab of the Options dialog box (Tools > Options... > CATIA Live Shape).

CATIA Live Shape capabilities vary depending on the product licenses you install.

A universal hybrid modeling tool, this application brings users the power to put their ideas directly in an industrial context early in the concept phase without needing to go into too much detail. It can also be used to simplify detail design in order to run downstream applications.

Built on B-Rep modeling geometry seamlessly integrated into the CATIA modeler, this application enables direct manipulation via a modern user interface where users get all they need at a click of a mouse.
