Running the Downward Compatibility Batch on a Layout Representation

You can convert a V6 2D layout representation into a V5 CATPart file containing a 2D layout document, using the Downward Compatibility batch.

Note: For more information about the Downward Compatibility batch, refer to Infrastructure User's Guide, in Infrastructure Tools > Running Batches > Running the Downward Compatibility Batch.

Before you begin: Start a V6 session.

  1. Select Tools > Utility....

    The Batch Monitor window opens.

  2. Double-click Downward Compatibility from the list.

    The Downward Compatibility dialog box is displayed.

  3. From the Convert drop-down list, select the target release for conversion (V5R18 SP4 or higher).

  4. Click to open the search dialog box.

  5. Define your query, then click Apply to launch the search.

  6. Click Save to save your batch parameters in an XML file.

  7. Click Run

    to launch the batch.
