Installing the 3DLive Add-on for Microsoft Office Communicator

This task shows you how to install a 3DLive add-on for Microsoft Office Communicator.

Important: You must have minimum level MOCS 2007.

  1. In the 3DLive application installation, go to the directory install\intel_a\resources\collabCusto where install is the path of your installation.

  2. Select ConfigMSCommunicator, right click and select Merge.

  3. Go to the Run command and type regedit.

  4. Go to Location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Communicator\SessionManager\Apps.

  5. Access the Key below Apps.

    Sample Reg files are seen with default values.

  6. Modify the Reg files with the correct information.

    Example:

  7. Restart the STD MOCS 2007.

  8. Connect to Communicator with a valid user.

  9. Double-click a user to create a chat.

    A chat window opens.

  10. In the menu bar, select Actions > 3DLive.

    The 3DLive application is launched.

Important: If your installation above does not work, you should verify that your OCS server is correctly configured:
  • go to the Run command and type regedit
  • in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Shared\UcClient, set ServerAddressExternal to the external address of your MOCS server
  • in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Communicator, set Transport to value="2" and ServerAddress to the internal address of your MOCS server
