Install the Online Documentation On Your Computer
On Windows
This tasks explains how to install the online documentation on Windows.
Log onto your computer. You need to have administrator privileges to install the
online documentation.
Insert the media.
Use the Windows Explorer to explore the documentation
media, and double-click the Setup.exe program on the media to start
the installation.
The Choose Destination Location dialog box appears:
The default folder in which the documentation in English
will be installed is:
C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B211doc\English
Click the Browse... button to select a new folder
if the default folder is not suitable.
Click the Next button to proceed.
The CATIA Documentation Select Software dialog box appears containing
the list of all documentation. The documentation is preselected:
Select the required manuals in the list.
Click the Select All button to select either
all documentation. Standard multi-selection of manuals is supported.
Once your selection is final, click the Next
button to proceed.
The CATIA Documentation Start Installation dialog box appears listing
the online documentation you are about to install. You will see a list of the selected products, or Select all:
Click the Install button to install the documentation.
A progress bar is displayed:
Once the online documentation files have been copied, the
CATIA Documentation Setup Complete dialog box informs you that the installation
has been completed:
Click the Close button to exit.
Note that after installing the online documentation, you must set the CATDocView environment variable
using the online documentation installation path.
Install the Online Documentation
on a Server
This tasks explains how to install the online documentation on a server.
You may want to install the documentation files on a server to save disk
space.
Install the documentation files on a computer as explained
above.
Start a session and use one of the commands for obtaining
help.
For example, press F1 for contextual help. A dialog box
will prompt you to specify the online documentation path.
In the dialog box, specify the remote path where the
documentation is located.
You can also access online documentation if it is installed
on a http server (for example, Apache).
If you do so, in the Apache server configuration file which is usually
httpd.conf replace the line:
#DefaultType text/plain
with the line:
DefaultType application/octet-stream
Note: The same type of MIME type configuration must be performed
on other types of HTTP servers on which online documentation
is to be deployed.
Uninstall the Online Documentation
This tasks explains how to uninstall the online documentation.
Use the Explorer to locate the documentation installation folder. For example: C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\B211doc
Delete the folder.
Activate the Java (Sun) Option for Searching with Internet Explorer
This tasks explains how to activate the Java (Sun) option for searching with Internet Explorer.
In order to be able to use the Search function when browsing on-line
documentation with Internet Explorer, you must first activate the option
IE Java(Sun). Otherwise, the Java applet will not appear, and will be replaced
by a grey box. To do so:
Start Internet Explorer.
Select Tools > Internet Options...
Select the Advanced tab.
Check the Java (Sun) option.
Click OK and restart Internet Explorer.
Install the Online Documentation On Your
Computer On AIX/Linux
This task explains how to install the online documentation on AIX/Linux.
The online documentation is provided on a suite of CD-ROMs. Once the
documentation files on the first CD-ROM have been installed, you will be
prompted to insert the next CD-ROM, and click OK to continue the installation
until you have inserted the last CD-ROM.
Note that you must install all the documentation CD-ROMs: you cannot,
for example, install only one out of the whole suite. If you click the
Cancel button before installing the final CD-ROM, the documentation
files previously installed will be uninstalled.
Logon as root.
Verify that you have enough free disk space in the file
system in which you intend to unload the code.
Insert the CD-ROM into the drive, mount the CD-ROM drive
and change directory to the CD-ROM mount point.
Enter the command: ./start to start the installation procedure. The Welcome dialog box appears. The steps are the same as
for Windows.
The default folder in which the documentation will be installed is:
/usr/DassaultSystemes/B211doc
Uninstall Online Documentation on AIX/Linux
This tasks explains how to uninstall the online documentation on AIX/Linux.
Logon as root.
Delete the installation directory, for example:
/usr/DassaultSystemes/B211doc
