Adding/Deleting/Editing a Sheet

When a drawing/layout is opened, a sheet is displayed by default. You can add, delete or edit sheets.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin: Open a drawing/layout representation.

Add a New Sheet

You can add a new sheet in a drawing or a layout.

  1. In the specification tree, right-click the Drawing or the Layout node and select New Sheet from the contextual menu.

    The new sheet is created and is automatically set as the current one. It is listed in the specification tree. Meanwhile, the Change Sheet Name dialog box appears.

    Tip: You can add a new sheet after this one, either by repeating the above step, or by right-clicking the newly-created sheet in the specification tree, and selecting New Sheet. This new sheet is assigned the same standard, format and orientation as the first sheet created (default setting).

  2. Specify a name for the sheet and click OK, or click Cancel to keep the default name.

    If you changed it, the new name is updated in the specification tree.

  3. To activate the first sheet, double-click it from the specification tree.

Delete a Sheet

You can delete a sheet in a drawing or a layout.

  • Right-click the sheet from the specification tree and select Delete.

    The sheet is deleted.

Edit a Sheet or its Background

You can edit a sheet ot its background in a drawing or a layout.

  1. To edit a sheet's background, right-click the sheet from the specification tree and select Edit Background.

    You can now start creating a frame and title block for instance.

  2. To edit a sheet, right-click the sheet from the specification tree and select Edit Sheet.

    You can now start creating views.
