  • .cgm
  • .dwg
  • .dxf
  • .gl2
  • .ps
  • .svg
  • .ig2
  • .csv

  1. Select Tools > Import From File....

The Import From... dialog box appears.

  2. Define the path of the file in the Look in box.

Note: While importing a .csv file:

    • You need to define the position of the table.
    • If you clear the Do not split table on several sheets check box from the Tools > Options > Mechanical > Drafting > Annotations and Dress-Up tab, and if the indicated location requests it, the created table is split on several sheets.

The file is imported into a drawing or a layout representation.

Note: For information about exporting a drawing representation, refer to Exporting a Drawing Representation (Save As).

Drag and Drop Files

You can drag and drop files onto the drafting or the layout window. This is same as importing files in a drawing or in a layout using the Import From File command.

Important: You can drag and drop the files only with extensions, .dxf, .dwg, .cgm, .ps, .gl2, .svg and .csv.

  1. Select the required file.

  2. Drag it from its location and drop it to the drafting or the layout window.

    Notes:

    • If you are dragging a .csv file, you need to define the position of the table, once you dropped it onto the drafting or the layout window.
    • You can drop multiple files at the same time. They are imported one after another.

The file is imported into a drawing or a layout representation.
