Using the Place Mode

This procedure describes how to use the Place Mode. This command uses a manikin's referential, between feet, to snap it to user-defined compass locations. This also applies to the Forearm Model.

Before you begin: Have a manikin in your scenario with the manikin's referential using between feet.
  1. Click Place Mode in the Manikin Posture toolbar.

Note: This icon must be unselected by clicking on it again in order to access another function.

  2. Select a location on the floor.

The compass snaps to the desired location on the floor.

  3. Select the Manikin.

The manikin is instantly snapped to the new location and placed in accordance to its referential.

The manikin respects the position of the compass. If required, drag, rotate the compass.

  4. To de-activate select the Place Mode.

Note: Coordinates of an Area object cannot be properly selected. When selecting an area, the manipulator places the manikin z-coordinate at zero(0). This restriction, arising from a limitation on the Area object itself, only applies to an area; for all other objects, the proper z-coordinate (corresponding to your selection) is picked.
