Creating Planes Between Other Planes

You can create any number of planes between two existing planes, in only one operation.

Before you begin: Create a 3D shape containing at least two planes.
  1. Click Planes Between in the Replication toolbar (Repetitions sub-toolbar).

The Planes Between dialog box appears.

  2. Select the two planes between which the new planes must be created.

  3. In the Instance(s) box, specify the number of planes to be created between the two selected planes.

  4. Click Preview to view the created planes.

  5. Click OK to create the planes.

The planes (identified as Plane.xxx) are added to the specification tree.

Important: You can select the Create in a new Body check box to create a new geometrical set containing only the repeated planes.
Warning:
  • Selecting sub-elements of a feature (i.e. edges or faces) or of an axis system (i.e. xy plane) is not allowed.
  • Performing a local Undo is unavailable with this command.
