More about Inserting a Solid Functional Set

The solid functional sets contain functional features. This topic provides you with the information you need to create the solid functional sets.

At different stages of your design, you can create different solid functional sets (SFS).

First Functional Feature

Creating a first functional feature automatically creates a solid functional set. Consequently, it is not necessary to use Insert > Solid Functional Set for creating your first functional feature.

You can create as many solid functional sets as required to produce a 3D shape representation.

Note: A solid functional set cannot contain any ordered geometrical sets (OGSs).

Non-Hybrid Design:

Before you create a feature, make sure that you are in non-hybrid mode.

Note: To set the non-hybrid mode, select Tools > Options > Infrastructure > 3D Shape Infrastructure > Part Document tab, and clear Enable hybrid design.

For details about hybrid design, see the Part Design User's Guide.

For details about the enable hybrid design setting, see Customizing Part Documentation.
