Identifying Free Edges

You can display subsets of free edges and thereby quickly visualize incompatible mesh. A subset of free edges is a connected component of free edges. An edge of a 2D mesh that is shared with a 3D mesh (using the capture, coating and extrusion functionalities) is not free anymore.

  1. In the Mesh Checkers toolbar, click Free Edges .

    The Free Edges dialog box appears. If free edges are detected, you can visualize the number of subset.

  2. Select the Autofocus check box if you want to focus on the current subset.

  3. Scan the free edge subsets using the browse buttons.

  4. Click Close.
