Capturing Elements

You can impose nodes by capturing them from either a free edge or a constrained edge.

Before you begin: Enter the Surface Mesh workshop.

  1. Click Element Capture .

    The Element Capture dialog box appears.

  2. Select the edge on which you want to impose nodes.

  3. In the Tolerance box, enter a tolerance value to automatically find the source edge.

  4. In the Mode list, select one of the following:

    • Projection to project the nodes of the source edge on the target edge.
    • Coincidence to superimpose the nodes of the source edge and the receiver edge. The nodes of both edges are duplicated and not shared.
    • Condensation to merge the nodes of the source edge and the receiver edge. The nodes of the both edges are shared and not duplicated.



  5. Click OK.
