Copying and Pasting a Scenario

You can copy a scenario from a simulation, paste it into the same simulation, and modify the conditions, such as loads and excitations.

If your changes are minor, it is more convenient to copy, paste, and modify a scenario compared with creating a new, empty scenario and reapplying the conditions. For more information, see Cutting and Pasting Objects in the Infrastructure User's Guide.

  1. To copy a scenario, do the following:

    1. From the specification tree, select the scenario to copy.
    2. Right-click and select Copy from the contextual menu (or press Ctrl+C).

  2. To paste a scenario, do the following:

    1. From the specification tree, select a scenario. You cannot paste the scenario into a different simulation.
    2. Right-click and select Paste from the contextual menu (or press Ctrl+V).

The scenario is pasted into the Scenario category.

The new scenario refers to the same objects as the original; for example, the product and finite element mesh. In addition, the new scenario contains the same objects as the original, such as initial conditions. You can make changes to the new scenario, such as changing an initial condition, and compute new results.

  3. You can also do the following to copy and paste a scenario:

    1. Select a scenario.
    2. Drag the selected scenario to another scenario.
    3. Click Ctrl, and drop the selected scenario.
