Electrical Specification Tree Icons

This section contains the list of specification tree symbols and masks specific to Electrical Assembly Design and Electrical Part Design workbenches. You can generate a number of features that are identified in the specification tree by different symbols.

The list of Electrical symbols is not exhaustive.

Symbols

Each feature is identified in the specification tree by a different symbol.

Products and 3D Parts
Electrical geometry: a Product.

An assembly of connectors, supports and one or more electrical branch geometries depending on your design philosphy. One or more electrical geometries represent the manufactured harness.

Electrical branch geometry: a 3D Part.

A set of branches containing segments which should be connected and a set of protective coverings. The electrical branch geometry represents the electrical geometry.

Electrical Physical System: a Product.

Groups all the conductors routed through geometrical harnesses.

Conductor Reference: a Product.

A product with one conductor reference.

Conductor Group Reference: a Product.

A product with several conductor references.

Support: a Product.

Serves to hold branches in position. Can be shared with mechanical system applications, in particular Tubing Design.

Devices
Connector

An electrical device that provides an electrical interface between two electrical physical systems, an item of equipment and an electrical physical system, or between conductors. Comprises one or more connection points.

Equipment

An electrical device used to assemble connectors and/or shells. Can be shared with mechanical system applications, in particular Tubing Design, to describe electro-mechanical devices, for example, pumps.

Mounting Equipment

An electrical device used to assemble different electrical devices. For example, mounting equipment can represent a rack or an electrical panel.

Shell

An electrical device which groups one or more electrical connectors.

BackShell

Designates the outer casing. An electrical device used to guide the ends of conductors and to protect the crimping area.

Contact

An electrical device used within a cavity. Can be used as the end of a conductor for conductor routing.

Filler Plug

An electrical device used to seal an unused cavity.

Features
Protective Covering

A covering element wrapping the conductor and possibly the insulating coating offering mechanical protection. It can be a corrugated tube, tape, etc.
