Physical Element Creation Reference Table

The creation of the branches in Physical depends on the design of the Logical pathway pattern.

Branch Creation in Physical

The extremity status of the logical wire will decide the branch end behavior in physical. The table below identifies all the possibilities of branch ending at the physical equipment.

If the logical pathway segment is ending on the equipment pathway end (PCP on fly), there are following possibilities of branch ending at the physical equipment:

Logical Pathway Ending Pattern Connection status between Logical Connector and Logical Equip Connector Port Logical Wire Route status Effect on Branch Creation in Physical

Logical Pathway Segment ending on Equipment Pathway end(PCP on fly)

At least one logical equipment connector port is connected to logical connector component

Logical wire is routed

The branch will end at the physical device provided the the name of the cavity in physical equipment should have the same name of logical connector port on logical equipment

Logical wire is not routed

The branch will end at the physical harness connector provided the name of physical harness connector should be identical to logical connector component

No logical equipment connector port is connected to logical connector component

Logical wire is routed

The branch will end at the physical device provided the the name of the cavity in physical equipment should have the same name of logical connector port on logical equipment

Logical wire is not routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.
Important: If two or more logical pathway segments are connected to the logical equipment through pathway end (PCP on the fly), only the first pathway segment will be synchronized.

If the logical pathway segment is ending on the equipment on PCP, there are following possibilities of branch ending at the physical equipment:

Logical Pathway Ending Pattern Is PCP connected to a Connector Port Connection status between Logical Connector and Logical Equip Connector Port Logical Wire Route status Effect on Branch Creation in Physical

Logical Pathway Segment ending on Equipment on PCP

PCP is connected to at least one connector port

At least one logical equipment connector port is connected to logical connector component

Logical wire is routed

The branch will end at the physical device provided the the name of the cavity in physical equipment should have the same name of logical connector port on logical equipment

Note that the conductor routing fails but the conductor specification is created.

Note that the conductor routing fails but the conductor specification is created.

Logical wire is not routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.

PCP is not connected to any connector port

At least one logical equipment connector port is connected to logical connector component

Logical wire is routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.

Note that the conductor routing fails but the conductor specification is created.

Logical wire is not routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.

No logical equipment connector port is connected to logical connector component

Logical wire is routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.

Note that the conductor routing fails but the conductor specification is created.

Logical wire is not routed

The branch will end at the 3D route point and will not be connected to any physical equipment or connector.
Important: If two or more logical pathway segments are connected to the logical equipment, only the first pathway segment will be synchronized.

Notes:

  • If the logical pathway segment is created through pathway connection point (PCP) of logical equipment, the corresponding physical branch will only be connected to the physical connector or connection point of physical equipment corresponding to the logical ports associated with the PCP.
  • If no port is associated to the PCP, the physical branch will end on a 3D route point.
  • If the logical pathway segment is created through pathway end (PCP on the fly) of logical equipment, the corresponding physical branch will only be connected to all the physical connector or connection point of physical equipment corresponding to the logical ports of equipment which are not connected to any other physical branch.
  • The branch creation in physical may vary as per the logical wire ending status.
