Immersive Applicative Data Browser

The immersive applicative data browser enables you to peform a wide variety of simulation and analysis functions on your sequences, excitations, simulation logic, or behaviors.

Thumbnails

The immersive browser relies on tabs to organize the different objects created.

The immersive browser is a tabbed browser that offers an alternative to the specification tree in Live Simulation. It is displayed on the left top side of the viewer.

Thumbnails or Text

By default, when you create an object associated a tab, the object is represented by a thumbnail of the object. When you can see thumbnails, you can click Show Text to see the text view.

Note that graphical information about the status of information (e.g., the check indicating that the item is part of the current scenario) remains available in the text format.

You can return to the thumbnail view by clicking Show Thumbnail .

Thumbnail Size

If you choose to display thumbnails, you can click on Display [Thumbnail Size] to select small, medium, or large thumbnails. By default, the thumbnail size is set to medium, although you can alter that using Tools > Options > DELMIA Infrastructure > Live Simulation. See Live Simulation.

The Display [Thumbnail Size] commands vary in appearance according to the target thumbnail size. The table below shows which Display [Thumbnail Size] command is paired with which thumbnail size.

Sorting and Grouping Thumbnails

By default, the thumbnails you create under any browser are sorted alphabetically, by name. You can click on one of the thumbnail arrangement commands to re-sort the thumbnails:

  • Arrange by Name
  • Arrange byOwner
  • Arrange by Type
  • Arrange by Active Status

If you select any of the thumbnail arrangement commands besides Arrange by Name , click Group to arrange the thumbnails in groups.

You can expand or contract each group or expand or contract all groups. If want to apply one tab's grouping options to all the browsers, click Apply All.

Because you can group thumbnails and contract the groups, the thumbnails take up only one column to the left of the browser. This leaves you with more room to work on your 3D view.

Thumbnail Appearance

The output of the thumbnail depends on:

  • Viewer settings (such as Ambience)
  • View mode settings (such as shading with material).

Tabs

The tabs enable you to concentrate your work in a logical way.

Most of the browser's tabs are available in several different workbenches; in some cases, they are only available in specific workbenches. The common tab bars for the resource or PPR context view and those for the simulation context view appear below

Command Interfaces

There are four main user interfaces available in the immersive browser.

  • Contextual menu commands available from the title bar of the browser tab

Note: Right-click on the title bar of the tab, not on the tab itself.

  • Contextual menu commands available from the thumbnails
  • Commands you access from the toolbars that surround the browser
  • Commands you access from balloon bars that in the context of a specific command (e.g., creating a track).
Important: The content of the browser depends on the current active simulation object (ASO). Available functionality within each tab depends on whether you are in the resource, PPR, or simulation context . It is also dependent on the user license.
