Attaching a Supporting Document

This task explains how to attach supporting documents to catalog chapters using Chapter > Attach Supporting Document and Chapter > Attach New Supporting Document command. Chapter > Attach New Supporting Document, allows the creation of a new document and the attachment of the newly created document to the selected Chapter.

Supporting documents enable you to gather information common to all objects classified in the chapter, e.g. related methodology, schemas, details about keyword meanings, etc.

  1. Select a Chapter, right-click and select Chapter > Attach Supporting Document.

    The Document Chooser dialog box appears.

  2. On the From Search tab page, enter a search string in the box and click Search or click Advanced Search to search with greater precision, then, from the Search Results list, select a document and click OK. (For Advanced Search, see Live ENOVIA V6 Connector User's Guide.)

    The Supporting Document will be inserted in the tree under the designated Chapter. For more information about attaching documents, see VPM Navigator > Document Management > Attaching Documents.
