Storing a Design Table in a Power Copy

You can store a design table in a power copy for later use. In this scenario, you want to instantiate the inner and the outer cages of a ball bearing in a different context. To do so, you create a power copy only containing the outer and the inner cages of an already existing ball bearing.

This task shows you how to:


Before you begin:
  • To perform this scenario, the Knowledge Template license is required.
  • Open a representation containing a design table.

Create the Power Copy

You can find here the procedure to follow to create the Power Copy containing a Design Table.

  1. Click and select Knowledgeware > Template > Knowledge Template workbench (if need be) and click Create a PowerCopy . The Power Copy Definition dialog box is displayed.

  2. In the Specification tree, click the following items:


    • the design table


    • the parameters pointed by the design table

    Click OK when done. The Power Copy is displayed below the PowerCopy node in the specification tree.

  3. Save your file and close it.

    To store a design table in a Power Copy, remember to select the parameters pointed by the design table.
