Opening Authoring Favorites

You can open navigation favorites and see the product structure exactly as it was when you created the favorite.

Organizing Favorites

  1. In the Favorites menu:

    • Select the Authoring Favorite you want to open.

      The Favorite is opened accordingly.

      Note that all Authoring Favorites are indicated by the icon .

    • Select Organize Favorites.

      The Organizing Favorites dialog box appears. For more details about organizing favorites, see Organizing Favorites.

  2. Double-click a Favorite or right-click a Favorite and select Open Favorites.

The Favorites are opened accordingly. When you open an authoring favorite, the product structure reappears exactly as it was when you created the favorite.

Important: Note the following exceptions:
  • When opening an authoring favorite, if some referenced data has been deleted, it will not be displayed; data is always opened from the database.
  • Likewise, an object that was referenced when you created a favorite but in the meantime has been replaced by a new version will not be displayed.
  • If an object was instantiated in the structure after you created a favorite, the new instance will not be displayed in the tree when the authoring favorite is opened.
  • If PLM root data on which a favorite was created is already opened in session, the favorite content will be opened in the same window (it will "complete" the content). If you want to have only the content of the favorite in a separate window, then you must first close all windows related to this PLM root data before you open the favorite.
