Graphic Properties |
Hide / Show, Colors, Line Types and Transparency are imported as Standard Graphic Properties. For more information, please refer to Managing Graphic Properties in products, in the VPM Physical Editor User Guide. |
Flexibility |
Imported Flexibility is declared on the Reference that becomes a PMR (Positional Mechanical Reference), then allowing to declare some of its instances and eventually occurrences as repositionable. Some particular instances of this PMR are declared as repositionable. Once instantiated, the instances of this PMR can have overloaded positions independent from the one defined on the other instances. |
Activation modes of Instances |
Imported The V5 Activate / Deactivate status of Product instances is imported in V6 as an effectivity on the corresponding Product Instances. For V5 Deactivated instance, its corresponding Instance is defined with an effectivity "FALSE" (set on the ActivateDeactivate variability space). For V5 activated instance, no effectivity is created. After an interactive FBDI, the product structure shown on screen reflects the Product Conf with Activated Instances only (as the Activate / Deactivate V6 standard behavior). Be careful, even if deactivated Instances are not shown in 3D and in the Specifications Tree, these data are correctly imported and will be propagated with other data. For more information about effectivity, please refer to VPM Configured Environment User Guide |

About Product Structure Link Isolation
In general, when a link is broken and you have checked the Isolate
links on missing document option, the link is imported but isolated.
But there are particular cases:
- Reference Links: when the option is selected, these links are isolated.
- Contextual Links: when the option is selected, these links are isolated.
- Instance / Reference Links: If the
pointed document is missing, the Instance is not created.

About Product Structure and the FBDI Update modeThe general behaviors of this functionality are explained in a dedicated chapter: Client Collaborative Platform | Coexistence and Transition | File-based Design Import | Importing V5 Data in Different Modes | Importing V5 Data by using Mapping Tables. Some specific behaviors are applicable to the following Product Structure informations:
- Flexibility - The re-import of a document can modify the repositionable status of the instances that are repositionable. As a repositionable instance can have its status defined in V6, or from an import in another context, it is not possible to remove this status in FBDI Update mode.
- Configuration - It is possible to configure a V6 assembly imported with FBDI and then use FBDI in the Update mode. The definition of the configuration is updated when re-using FBDI in the Update mode and so the V6 modifications are lost.
The result of the FBDI in update mode will re-modify the Graphic properties accordingly to the V5 ones. For more infomation refer to Client Collaborative Platform | Coexistence and Transition | File-based Design Import | About FBDI Principles.
