Simulation Activities and Actions File-Based Design Import

Simulation activities and actions that you created in V5 can be imported into V6 with the limitations described below.

Importing V5 Simulation Activities or Replay Objects in Process Documents

The table shows which activities and objects are not imported into V6 from V5 process documents that contain simulations.

Importing V5 Actions or Replay Objects in Product Documents

When you import a V5 product document with choreography actions (e.g., color actions) in V6, a manufacturing simulation object is created with a V6 version of the product as the context. The choreography actions are imported and stored under the excitations node of the manufacturing simulation object.

The replay objects from the V5 Product Document are imported and stored under the V6 version of the product.

The table below summarizes the FBDI import status for choreography actions and replay objects

V5 V6
Color Action Imported
Multi-shot color action Partial Import. The last recorded color shot of the V5 Multi-shot color action is imported. The remainder shots are not imported
Visibility Action Imported
Replay

A Replay is converted into an animation of the same name

Imported. For each replay object in the applicative containers of the V5 document, a corresponding animation object is created in V6 and is stored in an animation representation that is created as a child of the V6 product.
