Importing V5 Data Using Light Import

This task shows you how to import data using Light Import.

The documents that are imported using Light Import are the CATProduct listed to be imported.

Light import is used to import only the necessary core data of a document thereby ignoring lesser essential data.

This means that the product imported in light mode, will be imported only with its product structure (and associated documents), and also with publications. All other applicative data included in the product (like constraint, knowledge DMU, FTA … etc) will be ignored and not imported.

That is why this light mode should only be used when you are not able to fully import your applicative data at product level. It offers you a way to get at least your product structure and its 3D geometry.

Note: Only CATProduct documents import is currently supported using Light Import.
