Collaborative Design in a Nutshell
- Collaborative design from within mechanical design and shape
workbenches such as Part Design, Generative Shape Design or
Functional Modeling Parts
- Collaboration between communities
Collaborative Design is built on standard collaboration tools.
With Collaborative Design, designers can communicate and exchange
data around the 3D product definition. Integrated into the
collaborative Heads-Up Display, colleagues and partners can share
and exchange design changes.

Before Reading this Guide
Before reading this guide, you should be familiar with basic Version 6 concepts such as document windows, standard and view toolbars. Therefore, we recommend that you read the Infrastructure User's Guide that describes generic capabilities common to all Version 6 products. It also describes the general layout of Version 6 and the interoperability between workbenches.
You should also be familiar with collaboration tools and in
particular, with the Heads-Up Display.
- For more information on the Heads-Up Display, see
Infrastructure User's Guide: User Tasks:
