Core & Cavity Design in a Nutshell
Core & Cavity Design is intended for:
- a quick analysis of a molded part (cost feasibility),
- the preparation of the molded part for mold design and mold
manufacturing.
Core & Cavity Design defines the core and cavity
sides of a part, including any sliders or lifters that may be
required, so as to produce a Molded Part ready to be used with Tooling Design. It includes functions that define:
- the pulling directions,
- the parting line
- the parting surface,
- the splitting surface,
along with analysis and fine tuning capacities.

Before Reading this Guide
Before reading this guide, you should be familiar with basic Version 6 concepts such as document windows, standard and view toolbars. Therefore, we recommend that you read the Infrastructure User's Guide that describes generic capabilities common to all Version 6 products. It also describes the general layout of Version 6 and the interoperability between workbenches.
