Core & Cavity Design helps you analyze a molded part and prepare it for mold design and mold manufacturing.

This guide is intended for users who need to become quickly familiar with the Core & Cavity Design product.

Core & Cavity Design in a Nutshell

Core & Cavity Design is intended for:

  • a quick analysis of a molded part (cost feasibility),
  • the preparation of the molded part for mold design and mold manufacturing.

Core & Cavity Design defines the core and cavity sides of a part, including any sliders or lifters that may be required, so as to produce a Molded Part ready to be used with Tooling Design. It includes functions that define:

  • the pulling directions,
  • the parting line
  • the parting surface,
  • the splitting surface,

along with analysis and fine tuning capacities.

Before Reading this Guide

Before reading this guide, you should be familiar with basic Version 6 concepts such as document windows, standard and view toolbars. Therefore, we recommend that you read the Infrastructure User's Guide that describes generic capabilities common to all Version 6 products. It also describes the general layout of Version 6 and the interoperability between workbenches.
