Fixing Products

You can fix products with an engineering connection.

Two kinds of fixing are available:


  • Fix: fixes one product or one axis system.
  • Fix Together: fixes two products, one product and one Axis System in another product, or two Axis Systems from two different products.


Before you begin: Open an existing product.

About Engineering Connections
  1. Click Engineering Connection .

    The Engineering Connection Definintion dialog box appears.

  2. Select Jack_Frame.1 product in the Specification Tree.

    The Engineering Connection Definintion dialog box is updated: a Fix constraint has been created on Jack_Frame.1.



  3. Select Jack_Pad.1 product in the Specification Tree.

    The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box is updated: a Fix Together constraint has been created between Jack_Frame.1. and Jack_Pad.1.



    Tip:
    • Selecting one product in the Specification Tree then clicking Engineering Connection creates the Fix constraint.
    • Selecting two products in the Specification Tree then clicking Engineering Connection creates the Fix Together constraint.

  4. Click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.

    The Rigid engineering connection is created.

    Important:

    The Engineering Connection Assistant toolbar appears.

    These options help you to select/show relevant or irrelevant components to a regular engineering connection, to use constraints in an engineering connection in order to position components.
