Deactivating or Activating Constraints

You can deactivate or activate a constraint in an engineering connection.


Before you begin: Open an existing product containing an engineering connection.

  1. Double-click an existing engineering connection in the Specification Tree.

    The Engineering Connection Definition dialog box appears.



  2. Right-click the constraint type icon and select Deactivate from the contextual menu.

    Important:
    • Only engineering connection constraints can be deactivated.
    • The engineering connection cannot be deactivated.
    • Constraints multi-selection is not possible.
    • The display of the engineering connection Type is based on active constraints only.

    The constraint is deactivated and the deactivated mask is displayed on the icon .



  3. Click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.

    Important:

    Deactivated constraints are not taken into account during PLM update process.

  4. Double-click the previous engineering connection in the Specification Tree.

  5. Right-click the relation connection type icon and select Activate from the contextual menu.



    The constraint is activated and the activated mask disappears from the icon .



  6. Click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.

    Important:

    While the Positioning Mode option is on , the modified engineering connection will be deleted although you click OK in the Engineering Connection Definition dialog box.
